Jim and Sara Devaprasad have established this scholarship to aid in the success of a talented engineering student pursuing a robotics curriculum at LSSU. Jim is a Professor and Director of Robotics at the LSSU School of Engineering and Technology. He has been instrumental in the development of the robotics program and lab since 1986. He is grateful to have played a part in educating numerous students who have gone on to become exceptional engineers and leaders.
“While working with and advising so many students, it has always bothered me as to how difficult it has been for so many of our Lakers to financially afford a college education. Lake State continues to have about 60% of students who are first generation students and about the same percentage who have financial needs. Over the past several years, my wife Sara, two children Sam and Rayka, and I have contributed to endow the Devaprasad Robotics Scholarship fund. The earnings from this fund allows one $1,500 scholarship each year to a student with financial need. With your help, I hope to grow this fund to afford more scholarships for more of our future engineering students at LSSU. 100% of funds go directly to fund scholarships.”
