The Lake Superior State University Campus and the LSSU Foundation Office will be closed from Friday, December 24, 2021 through Sunday, January 9, 2022.
Gifts received by the LSSU Foundation via US mail and postmarked by December 31 will qualify for a Federal tax credit on itemized 2021 tax returns. You may also qualify for a tax credit in your state of residence. You can access a giving form here.
Credit card gifts sent by mail must reach the University by December 30 in order to receive a charitable deduction. The IRS has ruled that credit card gifts are deductible only in the year the bank processes the transaction. Otherwise, please make your credit card gift online using our secure server. Visit our website for additional information about making a gift.
Those alumni and friends who are 70 1/2 or older can take advantage of making a qualified charitable distribution that may help to reduce your taxable income. This giving opportunity can make an immediate impact on an area of LSSU that is important to you. For more information visit here.
The LSSU Foundation is a recognized charity by the Canada Revenue Agency and will provide an acknowledgment as your official receipt for tax reporting purposes. For more information go to: Canada Revenue Agency.
