This scholarship was established by Precision Edge Surgical Products Company to provide annual financial support to an incoming freshman who is a graduate of a Chippewa County, Michigan high school majoring in any course of study. Selection is based on high school minimum 3.0 GPA, ACT score, class rank and financial need. Precision Edge Surgical Products Company LLC is a world-renowned manufacturer of precision surgical components, cutting tools, instruments, and accessories. The company was founded in 1989 as a bur manufacturing facility near the city of Sault Ste. Marie, Mich. originally operating in a 1,100 sq. ft. facility. Today the company has expanded to operating in a 37,000 sq. ft. facility in Sault Ste. Marie employing over 180 highly skilled workers – many LSSU engineering students and alumni.
