This scholarship was established by Barbara Welch Buchanan to honor her father. Eugene Welch owned and operated Welch’s Service, a Chrysler dealership, and Welch’s Motel during his longtime business career. He was born in Levering in 1897 and died in Sault Ste. Marie in 1988. Mr. Welch highly valued education for his family and encouraged them and others to pursue a college education. Selection is based on academic excellence.
