carlbernittaburttThis named scholarship was established by the children of Carl and Bernitta Burtt to benefit a student majoring in any course of study in the College of Arts & Letters. Carl dropped out of school at the age of twelve in order to support his 12 brothers and sisters. He married Bernitta Wilcox in 1944 and together raised their family of six children. Though Carl and Bernitta did not finish high school, they valued the importance of education and vowed that their children would complete high school and to support their efforts in attending college. Recipients must be of sophomore status with a minimum 3.0 GPA and demonstrate financial need.
