The Lake Superior State University Campus and the LSSU Office of Advancement will be closed from Friday, December 23, 2022 through Sunday, January 8, 2023.
Gifts received by the LSSU Office of Advancement may qualify for a Federal tax deduction on your tax return. You may also qualify for a tax credit in your state of residence. You can access a giving form here.
Credit card gifts sent by mail must reach the University by December 29th in order to receive a charitable deduction. The IRS has ruled that credit card gifts are deductible only in the year the bank processes the transaction. Otherwise, please make your credit card gift online using our secure server.
Those alumni and friends who are 70 ½ or older can take advantage of making a qualified charitable distribution that may help to reduce your taxable income. This giving opportunity can make an immediate impact on an area of LSSU that is important to you. For more information visit here.
Lake Superior State University is a recognized charity by the Canada Revenue Agency and will provide an acknowledgment as your official receipt for tax reporting purposes. For more information go to: Canada Revenue Agency.
As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, many LSSU students have experienced significant uncertainty dealing with unanticipated costs related to getting home, food, housing and access to technology. You can join Lake State’s efforts to help students who are experiencing unforeseen challenges by donating to the Bud Mansfield Student Emergency Fund. With your support, we can act quickly and provide assistance that can lead to peace of mind and academic success, now and in the future. To make a gift, visit here.
