kennethlightDr. Kenneth F. Light was president of Lake Superior State College (now LSSU) from 1982-1986. Light had a presence with the University for 15 years and a career in higher education that spanned three decades. While president at LSSC, he was instrumental in establishing the LSSU Foundation as the fund-raising arm of the institution in 1983. Also during his tenure, the University’s aquatic research laboratory was established, and academic programs such as engineering technology and fire science. Successful candidates may major in any course of study with demonstrated financial need. Preference will be given to students who are not current recipients of any LSSU scholarship and who demonstrate scholastic achievement and/or GPA improvement during their LSSU experience.
