Celebrating the Upper Peninsula
Join us in celebrating 906 Day, as Lake Superior State University honors this special day dedicated to the spirit and pride of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. This year we hope to raise $5,000 in support of the Campus and Community Partnership Fund from Saturday, September 6 through Friday, September 12.
The Campus and Community Partnership Fund is designed to support collaborative projects that strengthen the bond between the university and the city. In collaboration LSSU and the City of Sault Ste. Marie, used the first allocation of the fund to hang LSSU flags throughout the downtown area from late July through October. The flags symbolize the unity and shared spirit between the campus and the community. The Campus and Community Partnership Fund has also helped bring feature films to the LSSU Arts Center, including Twister earlier this summer, and will support a screening of The Rocky Horror Picture Show in the fall. We are looking forward to more in the coming year!
